Durga Puja Becomes Audacious with Road Shows

There is always an attempt to harp over the much celebrated festivals in the vicinities of North India Culture especially if their origin stems from the South Indian, Eastern or Western vicinities. In the wake, West Bengal Tourism is drumming road show in New Delhi in order to showcase Durga Puja carnival.

The current decision to promote the upcoming Durga Puja carnival in the vicinities of New Dehli is amazing in more than one sense of the term. As West Bengal Tourism, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is offering a road show in New Delhi to showcase Durga Puja better, it is clear that tourism, based on regional festivals is set to grow unprecedentedly.

The attendees of the road show were Subhash Goyal, President, IATO & Chairman, STIC Travel Group; Bhaskar Khulbe, Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal; P P Khanna, Vice President, ADTOI; Sujit Banerjee, Secretary General, WTTC, India Initiative; Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury, Minister-in-Charge of Tourism, West Bengal; Umapda Chatterjee, Director Tourism, West Bengal; Vikram Sen, Principal Secretary Tourism, West Bengal and distinguished travel trade delegates from Delhi and the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

It is clear from the above that tourism opportunities are set to grow and one part of Indian region celebrates its festival in the other parts to make them acquaint them with their culture and tradition. The current effort is great in its appeal and objective as it will foster the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and secular credentials of Indian society.
